Country close to the city

Located north of Markham, Stouffville is home to the largest tracts of protected forest in York Region. At one time the community was known as "country close to the city". Today the main town itself is growing quickly, but with many of the rural lands located in Ontario's "greenbelt" Stouffville still has a strong, rural component.

Arts & Music

Stouffville also has a strong arts community with many musical groups and performances during the year. Perhaps the best known is Musicmania, an impressive group that has put on performances in the community for the past 49 years. There are many other singing groups, like the Bach to Blue group of singers and Men of Note male vocal choir.

A "Green" Community

With the "green-shift" underway Stouffville has many strong eco-attributes. Its large tracts of forest and protected lands offer many opportunities to commune with nature - right in your own backyard.

Recreation

Do you like to golf, ride horses, cycle, walk or cross-country ski? In addition to the usual recreational options you'll find in any community, like soccer, hockey and other activities, you will find that there is an opportunity for adventure as well!
