About me & My Passion My name is Susie Nadarajah, a candidate for Ward 6 Councillor of Whitchurch-Stouffville. I am a professional Insurance Adviser. I have graduated from Centennial College in Scarborough, Ontario, with Marketing and Business Administration Diploma. I have a wonderful husband, to whom I have been married for 10 years. We have been blessed with three children. Growing up with two siblings, each of us had different interests, however I was keen on advocating for the general public and becoming a leader. I love working with people and I am passionate about helping to build stronger community. I think that Council plays a crucial role in creating a successful community, representing the voices of residents, and supporting the community to plan for a great future. I want to be part of creating change and making Stouffville more sustainable and a liveable community. This is why I have taken up the decision to be part of the municipal election. Leadership The last four years has been vital for the growth of Stouffville. Our community has become more diverse representing the young families, senior and youth population. We need to keep in mind that young people are the future of our community and the seniors are the pillars of our community. Through canvassing I have learned that I can relate to the growing concerns and questions of the residents. I believe that connecting with the residents is one of the most important qualities to become a councillor. Majority of people wish things were done differently, or don't understand why things are done at all in Council. Some will complain to their neighbours, some will ignore and say nothing, and others will voice their opinion or inform social media. The solution to this is effective LEADERSHIP! Leaders look for solutions. Leaders will set an example. Leaders will listen. I believe that effective Leadership is what it will take to make Stouffville a successful town. My Platforms Ward 6 needs to focus on the following:
If Elected I pledge to be myself. I will be that problem solver that the community needs. I will be that critical thinker who will take the necessary actions to solve today’s problems for a successful future! I will ensure that Ward 6 residents’ voices are heard.
